Many databases will automatically keep the words together (or adjacent) as a phrase.

Search for a phrase i.e. 2 or more words that are adjacent and in the exact order |

Other databases may search all the terms with "implied and" or "implies or."

Search for records containing both (all) terms |

This is called "implied AND." |
