Bornstein - Alverno College Institute (in June in Milwaukee) assessment and teaching and learning. Didn't even mention IL. Met with librarians and deans - they are trying to integrate IL. Great institute about integrating assessment into teaching and learning. Baruch got a grant for electronic portfolios based on work at conference. Good ideas for getting feedback. 4 librarians from Baruch. More faculty may be sent from Baruch next year.

Announcement: Bornstein invited to co-chair Baruch's joint committee on curriculum and articulation for Baruch's three schools.

Making Connections Progress: Pond: meeting with local Cue and GenEd people on Campus - Need to keep track of it.

Killoran: CUE is looking to fund new initiatives. Come up with new initiatives. Baruch has gotten 55K this year. Multi-campus applications may not be as good (confusing perhaps). Assignments that work is one.

An IL Opportunity to consider: Common reading for the semester (KB) Reads, The Common Readings (LG) for all Freshmen, Book of the Semester (HO). Came out of Freshman Year Experience, maybe part of CUE. How to develop an IL component? Debate with research assessment.

Info for submission to Dean Judith Summerfield's Gen Ed compilation. The "we" in Zoe's chapter is LILAC.

Possible title: "Hidden Assets: The Role of Information Literacy in the Gen Ed Curriculum"

IL on Gen Ed and CUE Websites: We will have a LILAC/info lit in two places on WAC and GenEd and CUE. Under Information a link to Zoe and Kendrick presentation and under Resources to LILAC page.

Web look; liked the first view of Hostos designers' view. He'll send some more. LILAC maybe muddy.

Assessment tool literature from Kendrick:

IL Event:

How to Get IL in? roundtable at lunch? IL and GenEd. We still don't know this year's theme and RFPs haven't been sent out yet. We're still mulling. Need presence at GenEd conference beyond panel and workshop. IL as the hidden asset. Information fair -- interpretive dance -- give away assignments that work.

SubCommittee Reports
