Library Information Literacy Advisory Committee (LILAC)
Subcommittees

  1. Articulation
    Committee assignments: Laskin (chair), Galvin, DiMartino, Marcus, Owusu-Ansah

    This subcommittee will look at issues of articulation from community to senior colleges both from an administrative perspective (e.g. articulation of credit-bearing courses for transfer purposes), as well as in terms of progressive information literacy goals, Gen Ed requirements, etc. This committee will also look at equivalencies across college type for information literacy, e.g., 4 yr - 4 yr; 2 yr - 2 yr.


  2. CUNY IL Tutorial
    Committee assignments: Spina (chair), DeLuise, Parsons, Sheidlower, Voge, Williams, Harris, {Regalado}; Thistlewaite (GC) will act as liaison with the Aleph Public Services Committee.

    This subcommittee plans to do the following.

    • Remove the current out-of-date CUNY+ module.
    • Create and add a new CUNY+ module.
    • Examine and modify as needed the original four tutorials.
    • Examine and modify as needed the remaining (basically unmodified) CSU modules that will be loaded this month.


  3. Assessment
    Committee assignments: Farrell, (convenor), Thistlethwaite, Owusu-Ansah, Regalado, Williams

    This subcommittee seeks to identify information literacy related assessment efforts on CUNY campuses, to serve as a clearinghouse for assessment related materials and instruments, and to support development of effective information literacy assessment initiatives across CUNY. The subcommittee will strive to identify and suggest best practices for measuring successful student information literacy at the individual and program level, recommend and support professional development, and address assessment standards.


  4. Public Relations (for IL)
    Committee assignments: Regalado (co-chair), Tobin (co-chair), Gabriel, Galvin, Laskin

    This subcommittee has determined the following categories for a CUNY IL website, and will add content once the site is up: Public area: Instruction documents, syllabi, assessment tools, campus and CUNY-wide written goals and objectives, list of CUNY committees etc. of interest to IL (e.g. GenEd, CUE, etc.). Committee area: documents related to the work of LILAC e.g. meeting minutes.
